Girls State - 2015

Girls State 2105 will be held at Texas Lutheran University from June 14 to 20. Junior girls interested in applying should see Mr. Clark in the main office before 4:30 PM on February 26th.

If selected as a candidate, you must be available for an interview on Sunday March 8th at 3:00 PM at the American Legion Post 447. Directions will be provided.

Explore UT - March 7, 2015

Students K-12 are invited to Explore UT, the annual open house at the University of Texas at Austin, to take part in science and engineering experiments, plus art, history, communication, business, law, and other activities –nearly 400 in all--and expand their horizons about college and careers.

Explore UT happens on Saturday, March 7, 11 am to 5 pm. The event is FREE and open to everyone. Activities are designed for all students K-12, including Gifted and Talented, STEM, AVID, and CIS. No registration for individuals. Just go to the activities of your choice.

8th Grade Night PowerPoint

Westwood welcomed several hundred 8th grade parents and students for 8th grade parent night. For those parents who would like to revisit the new graduation plan or were unable to attend, please  view the HB5 Graduation Plan PowerPoint.

FAFSA Night - Feb 5

On February 5th a FAFSA night will be held at Westwood. This evening will be an opportunity for students and parents to bring their financial information and begin working on their FAFSA. The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is required by most schools to be eligible for financial aid and scholarships. Financial Aid representatives from Austin Community College and the Austin Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to assist parents and students with completing the FAFSA.

  • This will be a working evening and there will not be a presentation.
  • Time: 6:00 to 8:00
  • Location: Westwood Library

Aggieland Saturday - February 14, 2015

Texas A&M Aggieland Saturday is an annual campus-wide open house for prospective students and their families. During this one day, you can meet current students, tour the dorms, visit libraries and computer labs and see what Texas A&M has to offer you. You can also learn more about  colleges and majors, get information about admission and pick up some financial aid and scholarship information, too.
