Spring SAT Score Reporting Dates

The College Board has released an estimated timeline for spring SAT results. The dates are listed below.
  • March 5 test date: Mid-May score delivery
  • May 7 test date: Mid-June score delivery
  • June 4 test date: Mid-July score delivery

While the ACT is not as popular among Westwood students, our students generally score very well on this test . It might be a test to consider while the kinks are being ironed out of the redesigned SAT.  Information regarding the ACT can be found at actstudent.org

Course Registration & Parent night

Current 9th, 10th and 11th Grade Parent Night - January 27th
Parents and students are invited to attend parent night on January 27th, 2016. The goal of the evening is to help students and parents select appropriate courses for the 2016-2017 school year.  For a list of the programs which will have tables set up and a list of breakout sessions, please see the links below.

Registration and Course Selection for 2016-2017
The registration process for the 2016-2017 school year began this week with counselor presentations in social studies classes. Please review the timeline for course registration below.

January 27
9th, 10th and 11th Grade parent Night (See info above)

February 1 & 2
Choice sheet signing day.Students are given their choice sheets in the first block 
of the day. They will have an opportunity for their teachers to make recommendations for next year’s courses.  

February 3, 4 & 5
9th & 10th Grade: Return choice sheets to social studies teachers

February 8 to 12
Counselors meet with 9th & 10th grade students and finalize course requests

Feb 22 to Mar 11
Junior One on Ones with counselors. Juniors will bring their course selection sheets to their conference.

Two New Programs at The University of Tulsa

The University of Tulsa has two new programs for high achieving students. 

The Early Careers in Community Medicine is a joint program between TU and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. The student is granted early provisional acceptance to the OU College of Medicine. More information can be found here

The TU 3+1.5 MBA programs allows undergraduates to be admitted to the to an accelerated MBA program. Additional information can be found here

Harvey Mudd College Women's Introduction to STEM

The Women's Introduction to STEM is a fly-in program for high school juniors at Harvey Mudd College. The program is targeted to underrepresented women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The program is free of charge and includes lodging, meals and travel arrangements and is held on the campus of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. 

WISTEM Dates: February 25-27, 2016.
